Sophomore Mahsa Riar, the Summit chair and lead youth organizer, is excited to host the event in person for the first time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cOur goal with this year\u2019s Summit is to bring together young women from every corner of our community, to be energized and rise together,\u201d Riar explained. \u201cIn a world with constant fluctuation, we have an opportunity to embrace innovation and build a better future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">All girls in middle and high school are invited to register for no cost, with lunch, snacks, swag bags and door prizes provided by generous sponsors and community partners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Learn more and register today at www.LCWAG.org\/register.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">The theme for this year\u2019s summit is \u201cBreaking Boundaries and Embracing Change,\u201d featuring a keynote address from Emma G., a New Zealand-born, award-winning singer\/songwriter, youth worker, and TEDx speaker, who is on a mission to save the world one song at a time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">The Girl emPower Summit will also feature the following topics and speakers:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cSTEM for Change: Equity &amp; Diversity\u201d panel discussion with women in STEM at AWS;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cMental Health &amp; Wellness\u201d with Breana Turner, founder of Sisters with Ambition, Miss Virginia Volunteer 2021 and Ph.D. candidate at Virginia Tech;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cEntrepreneurship &amp; Leadership\u201d with Kindra Dionne, President &amp; CEO, PurposeWorX LLC;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cPreparing for Your Future\u201d with Nancy Yarahuan, Senior Educational Advisor, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cWe are in the midst of a turning point for our society, and we need strong female leaders who are ready to steer us in the right direction,\u201d LCWAG Chair Angela Mitchell said. \u201cThe Girl emPower Summit is a very intentional effort to help our girls understand that they have the answers we need.
