8. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals<\/h2>\n

Do Not Track (DNT)<\/strong>
\nSome browsers include a Do Not Track (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites indicating you do not want your online activity tracked. Our website does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to a DNT signal, as there is no uniform technical standard for how websites should interpret or respond to such signals. However, in preparation for California AB 566 (effective January 1, 2027), we are implementing processes to honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as required. This section will be updated upon implementation.<\/p>\n

Global Privacy Control (GPC) and California AB 566<\/strong>
\nThe Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser-based opt-out signal. California’s Opt Me Out Act (AB 566, effective January 1, 2027) will require websites to automatically honor universal opt-out signals from browsers, eliminating the need to navigate individual opt-out settings on each site.<\/p>\n

We are monitoring compliance requirements ahead of the January 1, 2027 deadline. While LCWAG is generally exempt from CCPA\/CPRA as a nonprofit organization, California residents may voluntarily contact us at coalitionchair@lcwag.org with the subject line “CPRA Rights Request” for any cookie-related privacy inquiries.<\/p>\n

9. California Residents – CCPA\/CPRA and Cookies<\/h2>\n

LCWAG is a nonprofit organization and is generally exempt from the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). As a matter of good practice, we note the following for California residents:<\/p>\n
