About the Authors
Dr. M. Yaqub Mirza and Gary Moore
Heavenly Returns pairs two unlikely experts–Moore and Mirza. On the surface, they make a surprising pair. Moore was born and raised in rural Kentucky and comes from an evangelical Christian tradition. Mirza is a Muslim Pakistani-American with a PhD in physics. However, in the course of discussing their faiths and approaches to financial management, they have discovered that more connects than separates them.
Mirza and Moore rightly pin a crisis of meaning as the epistemologiocal heart of many of today’s problems and through Heavenly Returns offer a reflective dialogue that we should all engage with to bring back ethical and spiritual considerations, based in our faith traditions, to our problem-solving as approaches.

Heavenly Returns mixes practical advice on topics such as career planning and charitable giving with practical tips from Moore’s and Mirza’s lives. Is it okay for Christians and Muslims to aspire to become rich? What is a “sin stock” and is it okay to own them? The authors have previously written six books between them, and in Heavenly Returns, they turn their attention to such questions to highlight the common ground between Christianity and Islam. They use their expertise to help readers become better stewards of God’s wealth for themselves, their neighbors, and future generations.
